As an experienced ENT surgeon, Dr.Jagdish gets asked a lot of questions and sometimes they are reasonable as well as weird! In this video, he reads out some of the weird questions about medicines and drugs that he receives while also addressing the concern in the questions carefully.

People have several questions and concerns before taking any medication. One such question is - Do BP medications cause low BP? He answers saying the purpose of BP medicines is to control the blood pressure. However, sometimes the blood pressure might become low causing orthostatic hypotension. It is a condition that makes a person feel dizzy or lightheaded when they stand up suddenly from sitting or lying down. Lack of nutrients in diet, dehydration, and blood loss are some of the common causes of low BP. When you have very low bp symptoms like nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness, and blurred vision, it is recommended that you consult with a doctor immediately.

Another among the weird questions about medicines asked was - ‘Do/Can depression medication cause erectile dysfunction? He explains that while there are some depression medicines side effects, with regular check-ups with a psychiatrist the side effects can be minimised by either dose alterations or changing medicines. He explains that depression medicine side effects are only temporary and should not stop you from getting treatment for depression as it is very important. If you have always wondered ‘are steroids bad?’ and if they would damage your body, then Dr.Jagdish addresses these doubts in the video. There are common misconceptions that steroids are bad. Dr. Jagdish explains that there are two types of steroids and the ones used by sports persons are different. He advises taking steroids under medical supervision. So, do not let questions like ‘are steroids bad?’ take over your mind. Consult your doctor before taking steroids.

Another medical question that came from a concerned patient was regarding permanent allergy treatment. Dr.Jagdish explains that the allergy is bound to come back once you stop the medication. However, permanent allergy treatment can be given by identifying the allergen and administering immunotherapy for the patient. Finally, he reiterates the importance of asking questions about medicines and consulting a doctor about your concerns.
