On the night of May 15 into the early hours of May 16, we were treated to a rare total lunar eclipse called a super flower blood moon. It turned out to be one of the best I'd ever seen. Unlike the previous two, the weather was not an issue. In early 2019, the weather was too cold to film a lot of footage, and in late 2021, the sky was too overcast to get much in the way of footage worth working with (although I managed to gather about two minutes of footage). I was able to last night get hours worth of footage and time lapse it. So it may look like the camera's being jostled more than it is. What really happened is that the moon continued to move across the sky as the eclipse progressed and I had to move the camera to keep up with the moon. Also, mosquitoes made sure to make the experience as unpleasant as they could. But despite that, I managed to get some really impressive footage. I'm hoping that what I got will be enjoyable for you. Because of thin clouds, sometimes the moon would look a lot darker than it really was, and so there are parts where you'll be barely able to see the moon at best. But other than that, I'm proud of how this footage turned out. I think this is my best lunar eclipse footage that I've captured yet. I'm hoping that it's not only my best lunar eclipse footage but it also is the most entertaining for you as well. Once again, I set it to a song by Kevin MacLeod, at this point I say it's almost become a little bit of a tradition.
