This one happened to come on the Classic Craw color, but good fish, Man, looks pretty ugly here. Let’s get her back in the water.

Hey, how's it going? My name is Ben and I am the founder of One Cast fishing and just a second ago you saw me catch that fish on a jig. In fact, it was one of our jigs and was a jig just like this. This is the our arkie head Classic Craw color. It's great this time of year as the bass are transitioning between that summer to that fall pattern and they can be a little finicky waiting on that fall turnover. The waters pretty clear here, actually, this time of year, particularly in this lake in North Carolina. So this natural color really gets those bass to bite.

So when we started handcrafting these jigs here at OneCast Fishing. There's a couple things we wanted to make sure that each one of our jigs had. Overall we wanted something to be extremely durable or that is going to last. Initially it was just going to be me or friends and family fishing them, so if I'm going to be fishing a product and I'm putting my time into it, you know, I wanted to look good. I wanted it to last. I wanted to catch fish day after day, season after season. I so that's why of course were all are paying jobs in here, you know, we baked on the paint for that glossy finish. Now, I like being able to pick this thing up out of the water after fishing every day and that thing still looks glossy there on the end. Do the bass really care? No, probably not because this thing's been sitting down in the mud or on the rocks all day. It's just something I want if I'm throwing it. I want it to look good. Next, is the fiber guards have to be glued in there and secured. You know, it's just a pain when you get a retie and replace the jig or that thing pops out.

Sharp hooks are extremely important. That's why we use the Mustad hooks here at OneCast Fishing. When you set that hook, right, you want to be able to make sure you have the confidence that that the hook is going to be put in the fish's mouth. But then, I think most importantly with jig construction is the jig skirt. How is that thing is tied on it? We use wire right here so you can pull on this all day. But that jig skirt, it’s not going to slip down. That was the big thing for me because as I started making these for myself and friends and family. I’m skipping all day; I'm casting up under brush; I’m pulling through lay downs, and that jig skirt with those rubber bands or this rubber collars would slip down after a while.

About half a day of fishing, you know, if I happen to didn’t lose it and I was keeping it to the next season. That had a tendency because it's getting wet, it's dry, and it's cold, the expansion to make that rubber collar would dry rot, right you have to replace it anyway. So, I wanted to eliminate that when I was making these for myself and friends. That's why we want the wire tied skirt to have that secure that premium product that's going to last you for a long time.
