Join me on a journey through time and space as I dive into the much-anticipated Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials! In this review, I'll share my thoughts on each episode— "The Star Beast," "Wild Blue Yonder," and "The Giggle."

The Star Beast: Russell T Davies, in collaboration with Pat Mills and Dave Gibbons, brings us an encounter between the Fourteenth Doctor and Donna Noble. Pacing issues and a complex plot may leave some viewers wanting, but the dynamic between Donna and the Doctor remains a highlight. The Meep's deceptive nature adds layers of complexity, leading to a captivating showdown that reshapes Donna's destiny.

Wild Blue Yonder: Directed by Tom Kingsley and penned by Russell T Davies, this episode takes a more subtle approach. As the TARDIS crash-lands on the edge of the known universe, the Doctor and Donna face mysterious entities. The slower pace allows for character exploration, and the unique narrative keeps you guessing. A standout episode with a fresh feel reminiscent of the classic Series 4 vibe.

The Giggle: Directed by Chanya Button and written by Russell T Davies, "The Giggle" transports us to 1925 Soho, unleashing chaos orchestrated by the mischievous Toymaker. The episode's charm lies in its historical setting and the Doctor's encounter with UNIT members Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Mel Bush. While nearly perfect, the "bi-generation" twist may divide opinions. An engaging conclusion with surprises and a glimpse of a settled-down Doctor.

The BBC planned to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who with the creation of an online archive of over 800 episodes. The network has now confirmed a new series, Tales of the TARDIS, that will launch alongside the new website.

The new spin-off was announced by the BBC, along with the website’s new official name, The Whoniverse. Beginning on November 1, the Whoniverse will be the official name, and dedicated home, for all the Doctor Who series and spin-offs on BBC iplayer. This includes Tales of the TARDIS, which is described as “the first original Whoniverse series.” This suggests more new series may be in the works.
