The OKC Thunder are the big winners of the 2022 NBA Draft. After having their first top 3 pick in as many years, Sam Presti and the Oklahoma City Thunder selected 7’0 unicorn Chet Holmgren with the 2nd overall pick, 6’10 French forward Ousmane Dieng of the New Zealand Breakers with the 11th overall pick, 6’6 Santa Clara wing Jalen Williams with the 12th overall pick, and 6’10 Arkansas big man Jaylin Williams with 34th pick in the 2022 NBA draft. Not only are the Thunder looking good with their rebuild but they now have a good foundational big three with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, and Chet Holmgren. The OKC Thunder have a lot of decisions to make in the 2022 NBA offseason such as dealing with extensions for guys like Lu Dort, Kenrich Williams, and Darius Bazley. The OKC Thunder trades started when they traded for JaMychal Green and a future first rounder by giving up 3 conditional first round picks. Sam Presti has finally used some of the Thunder’s stockpile of draft picks when they traded for the 11th pick in the draft in order to select Ousmane Dieng but you can expect the Okc Thunder to make more moves this offseason.

The OKC Thunder’s rebuild is definitely looking good. After selecting Josh Giddey, Tre Mann, Aleksej Pokusevski, Theo Maledon, and a number of other guys over the past two NBA drafts, Oklahoma City now have added Chet Holmgren, Ousmane Dieng, Jalen Williams, and Jaylin Williams to the team’s young core. Chet Holmgren could definitely be the big man that OKC has been looking for to pair with the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey backcourt. Ousmane Dieng is a point forward type of player who stands 6’10 and has a 7 foot wingspan. Jalen Williams from Santa Clara looks like he is a draft steal at number 12 and Jaylin Williams is another versatile and physical big man that should give a lot of value to the Thunder. A lot of Thunder fans wanted Jabari Smith Jr. and some also wanted Paolo Banchero but in this video, we’ll look into the OKC Thunder’s decision to draft Chet Holmgren 2nd overall, and we’ll look into the games of Ousmane Dieng and Jalen Williams. Chet Holmgren had 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 blocks in his Summer League debut vs. the Utah Jazz.
