Athagadapatna is a Village in Kabisuryanagar Tehsil in the Ganjam District of Odisha State, India. It is located 38 KM towards North from District headquarters Chatrapur. 7 KM from Kabisuryanagar. 152 KM from State capital Bhubaneswar.
Athagada Patna has witnessed many historical incidents in the past. It is the Birthplace of Famous Odia poet Kabisurya Baldev Ratha and Kabi Jadumani Mahapatra. It is said that the king of Athagada Raghunath Harichandan once given shelter to Gajapati King of Puri and kept the idol of Lord Jagannath in a secret place which is called Marda, during the massive attack by the Taki Khan.
It is known that Raghunath Hari Chandan raja of Athagada built a temple for Jagannath in the Saka Year of 1728 AD.
