In this video, I dove deep into understanding Kadamlia, a distributed hash table implementation used in overlay networks like BitTorrent. I explained how Kadamlia powers routing requests without a central authority, leveraging XOR as a distance function. I highlighted the importance of representation, ownership, and distance metrics in pure P2P implementations. Visualizing distance with XOR and optimizing routing through minimal path creation were key takeaways. Kadamlia's efficient XOR function and routing strategy enable effective peer-to-peer communication without relying on a central entity.
