Hoya Spotlight | Hoya sigillatis 101: Origin, History and My Care

Hello friends!

Today I decided to talk about Hoya sigillatis. Initially, this video was supposed to be something different, but I guess it turned into Hoya spotlight 101? I am not sure. I talk about my Hoya sigillatis that I has been in my care for 4 or 5 months now.

I can confirm this is a very beautiful Hoya indeed and it has been on my wishlist for this year - in fact, I didn't even expect to get it! I must admit, the size and thickness (or lack thereof) of foliage did surprise me. Still, this is a very nice Hoya to have and the splash is absolutely beautiful. When new leaves come in, they get a bit reddish too, which makes it even more attractive, even without the blooms.

In this video, I go on a bit of a deep-dive. I talk about where Hoya sigillatis comes from, what is the climate in its native habitat, and I also talk about several other things - the potting mix I use, my conditions, a bit of propagation, and most importantly, a bit of history on this Hoya. There is some silliness too, so don't say I didn't warn you.

As always, I hope you enjoy the video and I will see you very soon for a non-hoya related video.

But for now, join me on this Hoya investigation... hoyastigation. Let's make that a word.

Miro
