Why I replaced Delonghi with Niche Zero Grinder

Описание к видео Why I replaced Delonghi with Niche Zero Grinder

I bought my Dedica Delonghi Grinder in July 2018 (I think the SRP back then was close to 250USD). I was initially using an old Breville epsresso machine with a pressurized portafilter basket. Then I upgraded to a Rancilio Silvia with a commercial size, non-pressurized filter basket.

Then I finally decided to purchase a Niche Zero grinder last year at around 1000USD (landed cost Philippines) Since October 2021, I have been using my Niche Zero grinder and have pulled better and more consistent shots. It is also a single dose grinder that practically has zero coffee ground retention. It is easy to switch from one coffee bean to another compared with a grinder with a hopper.

I recently tried to use TGC medium roast coffee beans which I found to grind very well apart from getting excellent tasting espresso. So after a year of using my Niche Zero, I have decided to try again my DeLonghi Dedica grinder and compare it with the Niche using this coffee beans from TGC.

So is it worth spending $1000 vs. $250. If you only prepare drip filtered coffee or your espresso machine has a pressured filter basket, then the Delonghi Dedica can do the job. It has nice looking digital menu. But in my opinion if you are using a traditional non-pressurized espresso filter baskets, just save up and get a Niche Zero grinder.
