Session format: The session will take a hybrid format. It shall comprise three short scene setter presentations (ca 30 minutes) followed by expert panel discussion (ca 30 minutes). A 20-minute interactive session will follow to engage the participants (e.g., using mentimeter) for sharing their experiences and knowledge followed by 10-minute synthesis.

Session outline:

1. Welcome (3 minutes)

2. A 5 – minute video will be played highlighting water management challenges of SSPs in project sites (5 minutes)

3. Climate change vulnerability of SSPs in the Awash Basin: understanding the key causes; (7 minutes)

4. Analysis of key gender and social inclusion challenges in climate-smart water management (7 minutes)

5. Water management practices in project sites: what has worked? (7 minutes)

6. Putting it together: what are the key dimensions of innovative water management solutions for ensuring water security of SSPs; (8 minutes)

7. Q and A (focus on clarification); (10 minutes)

7. Panel discussion; (30 minutes)

8. Tapping into the experiences of the audience: online interactive session; (10 minutes).

This session will use a couple of questions to promote sharing of experiences among the participants.

9. Wrap up; (4 minutes)
