This vid went on my list (endless, endless list) of vid ideas and sat there for a while as I thought through things. I didn't want to do Stargate SG-1 but with a different intro, and I didn't want to have Sam be the focus just because she's 'the girl'. I wanted to imagine a different show set in the same universe where Bra'tac is the main character. And I wanted to be self indulgent! I adore Salli Richardson's performance as Drey-auc before she was recast. The fire and pride and poise! In another world, she could have been main cast.

From an editing standpoint, this was SO TIME CONSUMING OH MY GOD. The amount of detail and tiny, tiny clips in the original Buffy opening is wild. I wanted to challenge myself to recreate the starting section with its flurry of movement and almost incomprehensible clips -- about two frames per clip. If you have time, just go frame by frame for what I added there. It was a lot. I actually pulled in an entire episode ("Upgrades") just to use the shot of Sam's eye through a microscope to match the strange eyes in the original.

I used the fonts Buffied, Chiller, and MV Boli to do the titles.
