Cityworks has a powerful API that can be used to automate certain tasks. City of Cleveland performed an asset inventory of guardrails with photos using Esri's Survey123. Once those GIS assets were loaded onto the City's GIS Servers and configured as assets in Cityworks, the City wanted to import the inspection data and photos as inspections into Cityworks. I developed a Python script utilizing the Cityworks API to generate these 1000s of inspections. Automating Cityworks processes has made my work more efficient, eliminated tedious workflows, and provided better services to Cityworks end users. I will discuss the project and give an introduction on the Cityworks API and Python.
