How much do you think you spend on kids’ clothing? Maybe a better question is how much did you ACTUALLY spend this fall for your kids’ back to school clothes? Know how much we spent? Zero.
What parents are spending on back to school clothes is just getting out of hand. Clothes need to do 2 things: express a kid’s personality and protect them from the elements. They don’t have to cost a lot and they certainly don’t need to help them keep up with the mini-Joneses at school.
Teach your kids NOW to stop comparing themselves to other people. If they’re covered and comfortable, then you’ve won, my friend.
This is my middle son, Wyland. He loves to dress himself. And yes, he wore this outfit to school and he thought he was awesome. And you know what? I think he’s awesome, too. And we did not pay for his socks, his shorts, or his shirt. The only things he is wearing that we purchased are his white undershirt, his underwear, and that tie which was a Christmas gift.
