i can't really explain how this happened haha, it's like i got "assassin's creed: odyssey" and that somehow ignited the good old troy achilles/patroclus feelings which at the same time boosted the alexander/hephaestion

that being said, this movie is.... something alright. i appreciate the fact that they didn't delete alexander's sexuality so much (and made them cousins unlike another 2004 movie i know) but some parts are just... skippeable (every scene with olympias (angelina jolie) is very skippable.... which btw isn't even historically accurate)

first, wow i love alexander, i mean. he literally had the world to his feet and what did he want?? equal rights for persians and greeks i'm sorry but this is so so important and he was really one of the pioneers of globalization and this is just so important????

hephaestion was a general who grew up with him and they were "very close friends who certainly exceeded the common bounds of friendship." if you were to ask a victorian man (rolls eyes). and it's incredible to think that hephaestion died of typhus or something and alexander LOST it, he spend over the equivalent of one million pounds on his funeral, didn't eat or drink for three days and just was a huge dramatic mess.

but most importantly i'd like to rant about how much he loved hephaestion that literally to this day archeologists keep finding tombs and thinking "oh boy! maybe this is alexander the great's tomb!" and surprise! it's just another monument to hephaestion.

i could talk about my feelings forever like the time i felt took for making this vid, but what you need to know is is that alexander the great had his lover hephaestion at his side literally all his life and they had a beautiful story and he was the biggest fanboy whose otp was achilles and patroclus (what a nerd)
