1998 Preakness Stakes - Real Quiet

Описание к видео 1998 Preakness Stakes - Real Quiet

As Kent Desormeaux crossed under the wire with Real Quiet following their victory in today's Preakness Stakes, he thrust a fist into the air and alternated flashing two fingers and then a lone index finger.

''Two down, one to go,'' Desormeaux said he was signaling.

''The Derby and Preakness are out of the way,'' he said. ''Now, we're messing with history.''

Not since Affirmed, in 1978, has any colt been able to win the Triple Crown, which consists of the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes. It has been accomplished only 11 times, by greats like Secretariat, Citation, Seattle Slew and War Admiral.
