Partille Station was a stop on the original section of Västra Stambanan (the Western Mainline) between Göteborg C. and Jonsered that opened in December 1856. The original station building was called Partillemodellen and was used in several other places. The only remaining one is in Fåglavik in Herrljunga. The original building in Partille was torn down when the current Jugendstil / art nouveau station building was built in 1901.

Partille was called "Partilled" in 1901, explaining why the name is not centered on the building as the "d" was removed in 1916. Currently, the station building is a restaurant.

6:22 - CFL Cargo freight train headed by Svensk Tågkraft AB / STAB Rc2 003 (49583 +47) at 12:59. This locomotive was built by ASEA in Sweden for ÖBB Österreichische Bundesbahnen, the Austrian Federal Railways in 1971 as ÖBB 1043.03. It came back to Sweden in 2001 and was used by Tågab before STAB.
