9 - Unit 1: Plug-ins and the Plug-in API in Drupal

Drupal Plugins are a general, reusable, solution to a recurring need. The Plugin API is a standard, a way of structuring your code, and the Plugin API is used for solving a specific Drupal need in many different situations. A classic situation of a Plugin is using code to define a custom block. The implementation of custom block is a plugin using the Plugin Type of Block.
