"So here at IFA, Samsung is definitely going to want to tell their SmartThings story. But the challenge they've got is that there are other big companies like Amazon and Google who have really established themselves as the leaders in that field. What Samsung have got to struggle with is really awareness. There are lots of Samsung products in people's homes, washing machines, televisions, mobile phones, tablets and more, which can be connected together in a smart home scenario. But in a lot of cases, consumers just don't know about it."

"So let's say your electricity bill looks set to exceed your target. You can turn on AI energy mode to optimize your refrigerator's temperature, and you can use up to 30 percent less energy. Fifteen percent comes from the AI algorithm, the other 15 percent comes from adjusting the temperature of your fridge."

"I think some of the key messages we're going to see at IFA are energy efficiency. You'll see that on domestic appliances, all sorts of other devices as well. You're going to see people focussing on longevity, being able to say, you can buy this product with confidence and you can keep it for a long time. And I think you'll probably also see people focussing on other aspects such as the environment, which is definitely an omnipresent theme at the show."
