Jill & Chris [Valenfield] || Can You Hold Me ? (Resident Evil)

Yep, Resident Evil again. And be prepared to see dozens and dozen more videos on Resident Evil. I still have plenty of ideas to exploit, and I intend to do so for this new saga so dear to my heart.

So, so, so, RE again maybe, but new ship! For those uninitiated to RE, Valenfield is literally one of the most classic and greatest ships in the saga. They are mainly present in the games RE1, RE Revelations and RE5 (as well as in Umbrella Chronicles).

I knew, as soon as I started the saga and saw the first appearances of Jill and Chris, that I was going to ship them. Having said that, I hadn't anticipated how much and the pinnacle of this ship is in RE5, which I just finished. I initially shipped Jill and Carlos a lot after RE3 Remake, but now I have to say that for me the only possible man for Jill is Chris Redfield lol. Sorry, Carlos, that said, I still love you and I will never really forget the ship Valeveira either!

As usual, I will briefly introduce the ship, as briefly as possible. Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield were both originally members of Raccoon City's elite police unit, the S.T.A.R.S. They were, from what we see in RE1, close friends. They will both find themselves embarked on the "mansion incident", where their captain, Albert Wesker, had trapped them in this mansion in order to test biological weapons (zombies and other creatures created by the T-Virus) on them, more or less (the story is very long and complex). They will manage to get out of this nightmare alive, while believing Wesker to be dead. They will discover years later that this was not the case and that he survived that hellish night too.
Jill and Chris then both become anti-bioterrorism agents that spread around the world after the fall of Umbrella, for which they both played a big role. They have been partners for years, always staying very, very close.

They will be briefly associated with other partners for a period, which will not be successful for either of them, and they will work together again after that. One day, while on the trail of the former director of Umbrella, they will again find themselves confronted with Wesker.

Chris, Jill and Wesker will fight and while Wesker seems to be about to kill Chris, Jill don't hesitate for a second and chooses to sacrifice herself by throwing herself at Wesker, pushing them both through a window that will knock them down from the top of a cliff.
After that, the bodies of Wesker and Jill will be searched, but will never be found. Jill will be declared dead.
After that, Chris, clearly haunted by the loss of Jill, will find himself in Africa for a new bio-terrorism case, three years after Jill's "death". And he will then discover the photo of a woman who looks a lot like her, except that she is blonde.

Hope then dawns in him that Jill is alive, he will do anything to find her and he will eventually succeed, only to discover with horror that she seems to have become a puppet devoid of conscience working for Wesker. He quickly realizes that Wesker has implanted a substance in her that forces Jill to obey him and that she has thus spent the last three years unwillingly serving their worst enemy.
Chris will succeed in saving Jill by snatching the object that kept her in this state, and their reunion is... so so beautiful. Eventually, Chris, along with his new partner, will eventually defeat Wesker, and they will all make it out alive.

Officially, Jill and Chris are not canon, but they are THE closest ship to being canon after Ada and Leon and Jake and Sherry. Capcom (developers behind the REs) has even had fun making the fandom believe that the two characters had married, on the occasion of an April Fool's Day.

Which is a cruel joke ughh.

Finally, I completely fell for this ship and so here is my first video on them eh eh but not the last, far from it! :D I am also very, very proud of this video and I hope you will enjoy it too!
