Stabilizers: OA Stabilizers lubed with Krytox 205g0

wow...WoW.....WOW! Sp-star Polaris Greys (I will call them Greys from here on out) are sooooo nice. First of all, I love switches that do not need films. Blue velvets, gazzew u4t, and now sp-star greys hold a special place in my heart. A well-made switch should not need films.

Now to the other things about this switch. I think these are a very deep and poppy-sounding switch. They sound super similar to the milk 1s which is crazy as the milk 1s are a frankenswitch. The full PC housing is quite smooth. I did not lube the top housings this time because I wanted to keep the pop of these switches and they sound really nice. They aren't as clacky as a Cherry Black or Sp-Star's own Meteor White but that's fine. In terms of smoothness, these are similar to H1s. Perhaps a little less smooth an 8.5/10 if a H1 is a 9/10. They are smoother than the Blue Velvets I have, but at this point, I think the differences do not matter, sound matters more here. These sound to my ears like a more full-sounding Milk 1 with more pop. The milk 1 is more muted but not as deep, I think the muted sound signature comes from the Gateron Milk Top.

I'm blown away by how good these switches are and here's the kicker, they are cheaper than most JWK switches! I picked up mine on aliexpress for around $66 CAD for 110! That's value right there. They perform as well as more expensive JWK switches and I would say they sound better than a lot of the variants like Alpacas or Mauves. It's crazy because these sound about the same as a more expensive frankenswitch like the Milk 1s and offer a pretty deep poppy sound signature for those that like that as opposed to something that is more muted and deep like a Blue Velvet or Gateron Black Ink. Personally, I think these are in my top 3 linears (Milk1, Blue Velvet, and Sp-star grey) because the value and performance they offer are crazy for the price. Good job Sp-Star! I can't recommend these enough if you are looking for a deeper-sounding switch that is not muted.




*As a side note, I know a lot of places do not have Sp-star switches in stock. Kumamech (a Canadian vendor) will be getting a shipment in soon if you can wait. You can also get the Polaris Whites which have the same housing but a different spring weight! The Polaris Purples are a tactile version of the greys housings. (I am not sponsored by Kuma, just wanted to let the know the community know about a great Canadian vendor). You can get polaris white's on aliexpress, just don't pay more than $66~ CAD for 110 as that would be inflated.
