Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk | 190 miles | 12 days | Camping

On the 25th May 19 we set off on our Coast to Coast walk which would take us through the Lake District, to the Yorkshire Dales across to the Yorkshire Moors, crossing the width of England, covering 190 miles in total.

Our adventure started in St Bees on the west coast and took us 12 days to hike across the width of the country to Robin Hoods Bay on the east coast.

There were many ups and downs, quite literally however what an coast to coast adventure we had! We experienced all types of weather the UK has to offer and got the opportunity to see some spectacular views.

Parking and travel
We used the Packhorse service to take us to St Bees on the first day and collect us from Robin Hoods Bay on our final day (depart 4pm). They also kept our car in a secure location in Kirkby Stephen. We would highly recommend them!

Itinerary and Accommodation
Day 1 - St Bees to Ennerdale Bridge – 16 miles
Accommodation – Fox and Hound Pub
Cost - £5 per person (showers £3pp)

Day 2 – Ennerdale Bridge to Borrowdale – 17 miles
Accommodation – Chapel House Farm Campsite
Cost - £6 per person (showers 50p for 4 mins)

Day 3 – Borrowdale to Patterdale – 16 miles
Accommodation – YHA Patterdale
Cost - £16 per person

Day 4 – Patterdale to Shap – 15 miles
Accommodation – New Ing Lodge
Cost – £7 per person

Day 5 – Shap to Kirkby Stephen – 20 miles
Accommodation – Fletcher House

Day 6 – Kirkby Stephen to Keld – 12 miles
Accommodation – Keld Bunk Barn
Cost - £8 per person

Day 7 Keld to Reeth – 12 miles
Accommodation – Orchard Caravan Park
Cost - £6 per person (showers 20p)

Day 8 Reeth to Colburn – 15 miles
Accommodation – St Giles Farm
Cost - £6 per person

Day 9 Colburn to Ingleby Cross – 20 miles
Accommodation – Blue Bell Inn
Cost - £10 per person

Day 10 Ingleby Cross to Blakey Ridge – 21 miles
Accommodation – The Lion Inn
Cost - £2.50 per person

Day 11 Blakey Ridge to Grosmont – 13.5 miles
Accommodation – Station Tavern

Day 12 Grosmont to Robin Hoods Bay – 15.5 miles
