The talk I'm planning to give will largely feature the importance of and developing / building responsive UIs, animations, interactions, and gestures.
I'm currently developing an app about curating a record collection on your iOS device by adding albums as homescreen widgets (that link to Spotify or Apple Music). The app currently has loads of interruptible / animated gestural interactions and I was planning on speaking about how I built them and how others can learn from them to do the same (by leveraging things like CATransform3D, gesture recognizers, interruptible animation libraries (i.e. Motion), and even bridging the gap with SwiftUI animations). A few examples are opening albums up in place (and seeing them flip over like editing Widgets on the home screen) as well as building an interruptible coverflow experience (much like the original iPod ☺️).

My plan for the talk is to walk through building those animations and then applying the learnings from them to some common UI paradigms and how they can be "upgraded" to feel much better with more fluid / interruptible interactions. I also plan to touch on the importance of building app experiences that feel great as well as bringing people up to speed on how to make apps performant (especially in terms of serving gestures and eliminating hitches with Instruments).
