In this video, you will learn everything you need to know about Riesling wine as a beginner. You will learn what riesling wine is, the best regions Riesling wine comes from, what to look for when buying a Riesling wine.

This video begins by teaching you that Riesling wine comes from the Riesling grape. This wine can be either sweet or dry. Riesling wine originally comes from Germany. Riesling wine is known for its signature scent of gasoline. No gasoline is actually added to the wine, it just smells like it! A way to differentiate Riesling from other wines is to remember riesling has a gasoline scent and refreshing taste.

The best regions that riesling comes from, whether its a sweet or dry wine, are from Germany, France, Australia, or from Washinton State. Each region will have a slightly different tasting Riesling wine.

When buying a Riesling wine, remember that a young and old (aged) Riesling wine will have different tastes. Also, remember that Riesling wine can be either sweet or dry. There is often a "sweetness level" on the back of German Riesling, to help you decide how sweet a Riesling wine will be. We personally prefer dry Riesling wine instead of sweet Riesling wine.

When pairing food, Riesling wine typically goes really well with spicy food, german food, intensely flavored cheeses.
