RANKING EVERY DOMINION EXPANSION (2023 Edition w/ Plunder) Undiscovered Games Ep15 Board Game Review

Описание к видео RANKING EVERY DOMINION EXPANSION (2023 Edition w/ Plunder) Undiscovered Games Ep15 Board Game Review

CLARIFICATIONS & CORRECTIONS:
1. My video contains first editions only. Please note there are currently 6 second edition boxes with changes to some cards. My rankings are based entirely on the original first editions because that's what I'm familiar with. However, all editions are interchangeable with each other! If you want all the cards from both editions, you can buy the first editions & then get the little update packs. See the link below for more info on 1st vs 2nd editions.

2. There are 7 Heirloom cards in Nocturne, not 6. I forgot to include the Magic Lamp/Secret Cave in this video. Still, I would've liked to see more of those because it's a neat idea!

3. Regarding "coffers" in Renaissance vs. "coin tokens" in Guilds: In the video, I implied there was a difference between these. I mistakenly said Guilds was the only expansion that lets you spend coins like money, but coffers in Renaissance work the same way. It just calls them coffers, but you can spend them right away in conjunction with your treasure cards. For some reason, I was thinking you had to wait till your next turn, but you can use them in your buy phase on the same turn you receive them.
After making this video, I learned that later printings of Guilds actually included a coffers mat and changed the wording from "take a coin token" to "+1 coffers." That makes it much less confusing! Just know Guilds and Renaissance use coins/coffers the same way, but this does not change my ranking. Renaissance cards are more generous with coffers than Guilds cards. Plus Renaissance has the Villagers mat to store up coins for extra actions. So Renaissance is definitely more prone to those swingy games like I talked about in the video, whereas Guilds is a bit tamer. If you play Renaissance, I highly recommend using the Colony & Platinum cards from Prosperity; otherwise your game might end prematurely from players stocking up on too many coffers/villagers (just my personal experience).

EPISODE 15 is a complete ranking of every Dominion expansion up until May 2023 (first editions only). About 12 years ago, Dominion was the gateway game that introduced us to the hobby of modern board gaming. My wife and I have been playing Dominion ever since, and we have kept a complete collection of every expansion and promo card.

My wife and I are regular Dominion players, but we are not super serious about it. I still consider us casual players, but we have played every Dominion card multiple times, so I thought it would be fun to rank all the boxes. Still, we just play to have fun; we do not analyze every card combo or anything like that.

Therefore, this video is directed toward a more casual Dominion audience. I just wanted to offer a simplified overview of all the expansions for players who are new to the world of Dominion and are thinking about expanding their collection a bit.

This episode does not tackle the differences between the first & second editions, so please be aware that all the info here is based on the first editions only. I included a link above to read about the differences.
