On February 16, NAIOP Colorado hosted a Virtual Tour & Case Study session featuring NAIOP’s Inaugural Community Impact Award Honoree for 2020 - The Quayle, developed by Zocalo Community Development.

The Quayle is a unique re-development of the historic 112-year-old First Avenue Hotel located at 1st and Broadway in Denver which provides 102 affordable workforce apartments. Attendees learned how Zocalo rezoned the property to allow for a high-density mix of commercial and residential uses that capitalizes on the adjacent light rail station and neighborhood amenities, providing affordable living options for metro Denver's critical urban worker.

Featured panelists included: Moderator Terrance Hung, Vice Chairman with Newmark; David Zucker, Principal and CEO, Zocalo Community Development; Kathryn Grosscup, Manager - Housing Tax Credit with Colorado Housing & Finance Authority (CHFA); Tracy Huggins, Executive Director of Denver Urban Renewal Authority (DURA); John Lucero, Founder & Principal Broker, Lucero Development Services; and Brad Weinig, Director of Catalytic Partnerships with the City and County of Denver.
