Hello Friends,
Today, we are going to see what it takes to repair a leaking Kohler tap.
My kohler tap started leaking after 2 years of purchase.
I called the kohler customer care and customer care informed me that the tap is out of warranty and it would be a paid service. I went ahead and requested them for a visit.
The service technician reached my house the next and looked at the tap and changed the spindle.
The spindle had gone bad and due to that, the tap was leaking.
Once the old spindle was replaced with new spindle, no more leaking is observed.
The cost of the part is 621 rupees and I have posted the pic of the same to the end of this video.
The service charge was 250 rupees plus taxes. In total, it costed 900 rupees to fix the tap which is quite costly.
If you are facing the same issue, you can do it yourself by getting the similar spindle from nearby shop.
The steps are quite easy, Let me list out the steps for you
Cut off the water flow to the tap.
First, you need to remove the handle of the tap, for that there is a small screw present on the handle, In the tap that you are seeing in the video, the small screw is present at the front of the handle.
After unscrewing the handle can be pulled out and then you can see the spindle.
Remove the spindle using the Box Spanner. The Box spanner can be seen beside the green screw driver in the video.
Attach the new spindle in similar way.
Fix the tap handle back and check for any water leaks, If no water leak, Go ahead and tight the tap handle screw.
