Samuel Mendez is a PhD candidate at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, studying health communication. Their dissertation focuses on expanding health literacy research by drawing on natural language processing and machine learning techniques, as well as media studies theory. Their overall goal is to help make public health communication more effective and more equitable in the pandemic era.
