ABOUT US
Batalá New York is an all-women, women-led banda de percussao who promote Afro-Brazilian culture and women's empowerment through high energy, visually stimulating performance of drumming. We are part of Batalá Mundo, a global arts project of over 30 bands around the world with a common repertoire of music, costumes, and choreography originating in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.
