Mulsay, which means hill of red ants in Maya, was a Mayan site long before colonial times. Its colonial birth was most likely quite early, in the XVI/XVII centuries, as the property close to Merida was given to the Montejo family and their lieutenants. Mulsay was owned by Juan de Montejo y Maldonado, grandson of Francisco de Montejo El Mozo part of the founder family of Merida. Dating from the 17th century, Hacienda Mulsay is one of the oldest colonial estates in the Yucatan. Agent Eric Partney takes us for a tour of this spectacular property...
