Janab Ziauddin Siddiqui, Ameer of Wahdat-e-Islami, stated the following during the dharna protest organized by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, on 8 October 2025:

In 1976, a discussion was held at the United Nations on the issue of terrorism. During that discussion, terrorism was defined as any act that creates fear and terror among people.

Today, the Waqf Act 2025 is spreading fear among Muslims. By legislating against waqf, the government is interfering in Shariah. Earlier, the CAA/NRC laws were introduced with the intent to tamper with our citizenship. Now, through this anti-waqf law, there is a conspiracy to undermine the authority and ownership of waqf properties — whose true owner is Allah.

Therefore, when the government itself enacts laws that instill fear and intimidation, it can rightly be termed Legal Terrorism. Muslims must stand firm and united against this. Wahdat-e-Islami will extend full support to every decision taken by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board in this regard.

Furthermore, this government does not even wish to hear the word waqf. That is why the term has been removed and replaced with the name UMEED in the new law. The government’s policy is to erase the legacy of waqf from the past so that no one establishes waqf in the future.

We must continue to resist this policy without any compromise. We will fully support the struggle initiated by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board. In our efforts to reclaim our lives, properties, and rights, we will act within the bounds permitted by Shariah.
