Valentines FAILS: I'd Rather Be Single

Ah, Valentines Day : A classic corporate holiday where you're forced to compete with other people's relationships to try to impress someone through material possessions who should already like you.

Okay, maybe that's a jaded way of looking at the holdiay, but I'm not too far off. I LOVE love, but sometimes the expectations we put on each other when it comes to THIS holiday can result in more issues than romance. It's officially the 15th, and the broken-hearted have already taken to Reddit to share their epic fails of the occasion.

-Is it ultimately okay to be upset if your partner didn't get you anything for the holiday?
-Does finding out that a present was purchased last minute make it objectively "worse"?
-And how much should PARENTS be involved in this holiday?
