The King’s Fund discussed what is needed to make health and care a more attractive career, following the publication of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan and looking ahead to a general election.

This event was held on the 6 December 2023, 8.15am for 8:30am – 9:45am, in The King's Fund office.

It discussed:
The political barriers and action needed to recruit and retain NHS staff.
Why improving workplace cultures within health and care is vital to address issues including excessive workloads, stress levels, bullying and harassment and discrimination.
The workforce challenges and pressures felt by healthcare leaders, and how they are supporting staff wellbeing on a local level.

This discussion will focused on the NHS, and we are hosting another breakfast event on social care in the next few weeks.
