To protect the Siliguri Corridor that is the only way to connect with seven sister states in the North East India, from both China & Bangladesh because it is situated near both India - China Border & India - Bangladesh border, Indian government is taking some bold steps that includes the costruction of 40 KM long & 20-25 meter deep underground railway track that will be covered by bomb proof materials so that Indian army & Indian armed forces can easily move tanks, soldiers & drones from the mainland India to North East India. Also it will help Indian Air force to supply air defense systems & missiles to its air bases in the region.
