Re-engaging Marriage Skills

Many people may not fully understand the value of marriage ministry, but as marriage leader John McGee states, “You’d be hard pressed to find something that has more of a generational impact.”

As the Senior Director of Watermark Church’s Resources, John established Watermark’s plan to provide a safety net for marriages at every stage. The church starts couples off strong with premarital prep, helps newlyweds establish good habits in the first years, enriches and strengthens marriages, and supports those struggling.

Programs developed by Watermark such as Re|engage and Merge are created for churches to easily implement with little additional effort and allow for married couples to do life together through groups.

“If we surround ourselves with those who invest in their marriages and deal with conflict in healthy ways, we’ll start to become like them,” says, John. And he feels that people tend to pattern their lives based on the example of others. That is why married couples can benefit from doing life with other couples through small groups.

Whether a couple rates their marriage as a 1 and they want to get to a 2, or an 8 and they want to get to a 9, there is a safe place to reconnect, reignite and resurrect a marriage at any stage.
