Travel video vlog about our trip to Lapland in Finland during December 2023.

Lapland is the largest and northernmost region of Finland and it was my third destination on my European trip, after Helsinki in Finland and Tallinn in Estonia. I took a flight from Tallinn airport to Helsinki then connected to a flight to Kittila from there. I stayed at the Northern lights ranch for the entire duration of my stay in December and did sightseeing and activities from Levi.

We visited Lapland in December 2023, which is during the polar nights (a phenomenon in the northernmost and southernmost regions of Earth where night lasts for more than 24 hours). This occurs only inside the polar circles. We had approximately 2 hours of daylight during our stay in December. The sky was too cloudy when we were there so unfortunately we did not get to see the Northern lights, but the trip was amazing nevertheless, and I highly recommend visiting the Lapland area during this time of the year. The coldest temperature we had to endure on this trip was -23C or -9F during the snowmobile and ice fishing trip, but if you come prepared with layers (we rented snow clothes in addition to the layers we had), mittens, balaclavas etc, you will have a great time.
