Welcome to my video on the Scarlet Sails celebration in St. Petersburg, Russia! This amazing event, held every summer during the White Nights Festival, has become the biggest and most famous public event in the city. Inspired by Alexander Grin's novel, the highlight is a beautiful brigantine with scarlet sails sailing along the Neva River, symbolizing dreams and new beginnings.

Since it started in 1968, the Scarlet Sails has grown to attract about one million excited visitors, all enjoying free entertainment. This includes performances by rock stars, the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, ballet acts, and big events on the Neva River like rowing and motorboat races, and even a huge pirate battle.

The celebration also features amazing shows from famous entertainers like Cirque du Soleil, the Mariinsky Ballet, and Hollywood stars such as Antonio Banderas. After being held virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event returned to in-person celebrations in 2022.
