The Exo-Glove Poly is a soft, polymer-based wearable robotic glove designed to assist individuals suffering from hand paralysis, particularly patients with spinal cord injuries. Developed at Seoul National University, it utilizes a tendon-driven actuation system to enable users to perform pinching and grasping motions with enhanced dexterity and minimal bulk compared to traditional exoskeletons.
The glove covers the thumb, index, and middle fingers, routing flexible tendons through a system of fabric straps and Teflon tubes to mimic finger movements.

• Made from lightweight, soft polymer materials, increasing comfort and wearability while ensuring waterproofing for hygiene.
• Uses a tendon-driven mechanism with actuators that can be mounted externally (e.g., on a wheelchair) so only the glove itself is worn on the hand.
• Includes a passive thumb structure that holds the thumb in an abducted position, essential for functional gripping tasks.
• Designed for mass production, affordability, and daily use by people with hand disabilities.
• Safety is enhanced by encasing tendons in Teflon tubing and anchoring mechanisms to prevent injury during use.

• The Exo-Glove Poly II features design improvements for compactness, robustness, and adaptability to a wider range of hand sizes just using one actuator for antagonistic tendon movement.
• The latest version, Exo-Glove Poly III, introduces further actuation optimizations and can assist two types of grasping strategies with a single actuator, making the device more versatile for everyday tasks.

• Specifically engineered for users with paralysis due to spinal cord injury, stroke, or cerebral palsy, to help regain independence in daily activities such as holding objects, opening doors, and performing personal care tasks.
