(8 Dec 2017) Muslims in Kashmir and Dhaka protested outside the US embassies on Friday against US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
Hundreds of Muslim Kashmiris marched at several places in the main city of Srinagar and other parts of Indian-controlled Kashmir, chanting slogans including "Down with America" and "Down with Israel".
They burned US and Israeli flags, while authorities imposed a curfew in old parts of Srinagar and banned Friday prayers at the city's main mosque for fear that protests could morph into violent anti-India rallies.
Kashmiri leaders have called Trump's move "anti-Muslim".
There were also protests in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka.
Activists chanted and marched near the National Mosque and burned photos of Trump.
