History of Mysore Palace
Mysore Palace was first constructed in the 14th century but was rebuilt in 1912 following a fire that consumed the previous building. Architect Henry Irwin designed the palace, which incorporates Hindu, Muslim, Rajput, and Gothic architectural styles, thus becoming a rare historical monument. It was used as an official residence for the Wodeyars, who governed the Kingdom of Mysore for more than 500 years.
