Did you know that the violin has been around for roughly 500 years or so. Some of the most amazing music in the world had been created for and played by violins. The violin, one of the most prominent string instruments in the world, can ensemble a range of music styles, including fast, slow, and sanguine.
At CCRT Sanskriti Haat in the on going 5 days Cultural Mela titled, ‘Azadi ke Amrit Kaal ki Shubh Vela: Kalakaron- Shilpkaron ka Mela’ Indian classical violinist Johar Ali Khan presented some wonderful violin compositions. He is the son and disciple of Gohar Ali Khan of Rampur, and belongs to the Patiala Gharana of Rampur. His grandfather was Ali Baksh, the founder of Patiala Gharana.
Johar Ali Khan has represented India at the 60th anniversary of UNESCO in Paris where he composed music for melody of dialogue among Civilizations Association. He also represented India at the SAARC, and has composed music for the South Pacific Games on behalf of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Recently he composed music for Swachch Bharat Mission, Ministry of Urban Development Govt. of India, Delhi.
