This is the last remaining footage taken inside the original iO Theater before it was torn down.

In June of 2014, the iO Theater (ImprovOlympic) moved from its original location in Wrigleyville. In this video, the co-founder of iO, Charna Halpern, gives the final tour of the original iO Theater at 3541 N. Clark Street, just days before moving to their new location at 1501 N. Kingsbury.

Charna tells stories of bringing Tina Fey and Amy Poehler together for the first time.

Charna Halpern (born 1952) is a co-founder of the ImprovOlympic, now known as iO. In 1984, with partner Del Close, she invented the long-form improv style known as The Harold. She and Close co-authored the book Truth in Comedy: The Manual of Improvisation with editor Kim "Howard" Johnson in 1994.
