Just 15 miles southwest of The Villages is the Dade Battlefield Historic State Park. At this location one of the most significant battles in Florida history took place between 108 US Army soldiers and 180 warriors of the Seminole Tribes. This battle resulted in the commencement of the Second Seminole War, one of the costliest wars in US history. The park is open 365 days a year and a battle reenactment takes place the first weekend in January.

Charlie and Jennifer Pryde have lived in The Villages for 22 months and in Central Florida for fifteen years. Our main activities in The Villages are biking, fitness parks, pickle ball, platform tennis, golf and swimming. We love to travel throughout Florida, the United States and internationally. Our Youtube channel’s focus is on promoting a physically active lifestyle for mature adults, but we will also indulge ourselves in a good restaurant, bakery or watering hole that we find during our travels.
