The first thing I consider when speaking to a new prospective injury client is the non-economic damages he or she has suffered.

These damages are intangible yet are usually the most devastating. Putting a price on diminished quality of life is very difficult but is necessary in order to secure a victory for each client.

Insurance companies typically measure damages in two categories: lost wages and the total sum of all medical bills related to the injury. I, however, refuse to frame it this way. The true dollar amount is much higher (often it is near infinite) when considering the loss of abilities like speech and eating, or no longer being able to maintain any former hobbies.

Would you trade $1,000,000 for the ability to ever walk again?
