How To Make a Tree Spring Survival Trap - NightHawkInLight

Here is a non-lethal trap design that can be used for any number of animals, from small game to birds. It can either be set along a game trail to be triggered passively by creatures passing by, or bait can be applied to the horizontal trigger stick. For very small animals the trap and loop of rope should be made smaller for best success, and for very large animals it can be made using stronger rope and a bigger tree as the spring.

There are different regulations for trapping animals depending on the location, and this trap may be illegal in some areas. Check the local laws before building traps of any kind. In general I only recommend traps be used in actual survival situations where obtaining food is a necessity. The trap in this video was disassembled after filming.
