Ford Focus MK2 2009 Heater Quick Fix

UPDATE: After a Summer of not using my heating I recently noticed again that my heating was not working and the cable had developed the same kink, this was a quick fix but just to let people know if you have had this issue you should expect to get it again. As mentioned in a previous comment you can actually perform this fix without disconnecting the stereo which would same time and prevent the need for the security code to be entered.

My 2009 Ford Focus has had problems with the heating for some time. After unsuccessful trying many any the advised guides online I happened to stumble across the problem and fix.

I have not seen this fix mentioned anywhere online so I wanted to document it in the hopes that it might help at least one person.

This fix takes approximately 15 minutes and only requires a Philips screwdriver (and the stereo security code) and cost nothing.
