Jacqueline Sweet on her Twitter ban, Elon Musk, and the real Adrian Dittmann

Elon Musk bought X (Twitter) back in 2022 with a promise to make the social media platform a home for free speech. But can social media platforms ever truly be a home for free speech? This week Elon Musk has been tested after it emerged that Spectator journalist Jacqueline Sweet had her account and article blocked on Twitter. The story revealed that the rumour that an anonymous X profile called Adrian Dittmann is Elon Musk was false – Jacqueline’s investigation suggests he is a real person.
