The Reason Companies Don't Want To Hire Gen Z

This video discusses why companies don't want to hire Gen Z employees. Gen Z has been gaining an unfavorable reputation within the professional working environment. Some common complaints about the next generation of working professionals are their lack of soft skills, lack of experience, and their "flightiness." The greatest stereotypes pigeonholing Gen Z are their lack of social skills (mainly those that impact their office etiquette), lack of experience, and flightiness. I am referencing the younger generations' proclivity to change or move at the drop of a dime and their sense of unpredictability when I say flightiness.

Many people believe Gen Z has some deficiencies in socializing, both in the workplace and outside of the workplace. Social Media, the COVID-19 Pandemic, and improper parenting have been pointed to as the root causes of this issue. Also, despite Gen Z being the most "educated" generation, employers still feel Gen Z lacks many "hard" skills or technological skills needed for the workplace.

Gen Z seems to be getting an unfair representation within the media for their "poor" work ethic or "entitled" attitudes. I address all employers' views regarding the trouble of hiring Gen Z workers and the feelings of Gen Z candidates about how unfair they believe employers are being.
