Information is power, and we can not speak of empowering young women in Nigeria without providing them with quality, helpful information. It is the goal of THE GIRLS SHOW Nigeria to bring empowering information as closely and affordably as possible to young women in Nigeria.

THE GIRLS SHOW on Unilag fm (TGS) is a weekly phone-in radio show which first aired in April 2012. It began as a platform for informing and empowering young women in Nigeria through the use of role modeling, interviews, debates and sharing real life stories. Focus areas include health, fitness, leadership and career, and family success.

The need for these in our nation today cannot be over-emphasized especially in our nation where young women experience gender discrimination, poverty, human trafficking, domestic violence, abortion, HIV/AIDS, etc . It is the desire of The Girls Show Team to help young women realize their potentials and live positively through adequate information.

Due to the ever rising popularity of The Girls Show on Unilag Radio, which airs only on Tuesdays by 3:00pm, and the increasing need to reach out to more girls in an environment that is conducive for one-on-one contacts with the possibility of asking questions and receiving appropriate answers, promoting unity and profitable interaction with role models and success figures, THE GIRLS REVOLUTION Conference was born.

THE GIRLS REVOLUTION CONFERENCE

THE GIRLS REVOLUTION Conference is an internationally-recognized, information and inspiration-packed conference that is committed to bringing together young women between the ages of 12 and 25 years as we shed light on issues such as health, self-esteem, career and relationship success. Over 10,000 young women from over 50 schools have benefited directly from this humanitarian gesture since the 1st edition held in August, 2012 in Lagos and we hope to reach more this year. Through the hosting of the past 8 Editions of THE GIRLS REVOLUTION Conference, we have brought various pace-setters in industry and government to speak to young women and encourage them towards their dreams. The next edition of this conference (freshly renamed THE NATIONAL YOUNG WOMEN SUMMIT) is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 27th May, 2014 by 11:00a.m at The Main Auditorium of the University of Lagos with the THEME: UNLEASH YOUR GIRL POWER. The conference will be facilitated by Host, Olamipeju Lawal, and other seasoned guest speakers.

To create platforms to consistently reach and access young women with helpful and required information thereby leading to their health, education and empowerment through the use of various platforms including conferences, social media, mass media, etc.
