In Tom Murphy’s 25 years at the Gibson Custom Shop, he’s had a hand in making some of the most incredible aged art the guitar world has ever seen. After announcing his new Murphy Lab and Murphy Lab Collection, we thought what better time to share some more of Tom’s incredible work. Crafted by Tom Murphy himself, these Murphy Painted and Murphy Aged models predate those in the Murphy Lab Collection, but they feature many of the same proprietary techniques and hand-applied details for which Tom is so well-known.

Using the most sophisticated tools and technology, master artisan Tom Murphy and his team create each Murphy Lab guitar inside our Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee. Each instrument is a unique, handcrafted work of art, with the character, vibe, and feel of an original.
