Manipur Violence: As Manipur witnesses a resurgence of violence, the residence of Union Minister R K Ranjan Singh at Kongba in Imphal was torched by a mob on the night of June 15. The Union Minister was not at home at the time of the incident. The Union Minister of State for External Affairs later said that nobody had been injured by the attack. According to the minister, the miscreants attacked his house with petrol bombs and damaged the ground floor and first floor of his residence. This was not the only instance of a house being set on fire by a violent mob on June 15. At least two abandoned houses were set ablaze on Thursday afternoon. These incidents of arson come days after an attack in the Khamenlok area left nine people dead and injured ten others.
